Overview
Jaxen Krell is a freelance pilot and "quantum courier" who operates on the fringes of Unbound territory. He specializes in moving sensitive cargo through Fading Zones and other unstable regions of space where Alliance patrols fear to tread.
Appearance
Jaxen looks like a man who hasn't slept in a gravity well for weeks. His flight suit is a patchwork of repairs, and his cybernetic eye—a "gift" from a botched jump near the Shimmering Rift—twitches when he's stressed. He carries a compact pulse pistol on his hip, though he prefers to talk (or fly) his way out of trouble.
Personality
Jaxen is a survivalist. He doesn't care about the high-minded philosophy of the Consciousness Academy or the political posturing of the United Alliance. To him, the Quantum Layer is just a series of shortcuts and hazards. He is fiercely protective of his ship, The Event Horizon, and his own independence.
Dialogue Style
He talks like a man who is always calculating his next exit. He uses technical jargon mixed with spacer slang.

Jaxen is a master of "Blind Jumping"—navigating the Quantum Highways without Alliance guidance beacons. He has a preternatural sense for The Fading, often feeling the "static" of a reality collapse before it happens.
Combat
In ship-to-ship combat, Jaxen is a ghost, using quantum decoys and debris fields to lose pursuers. On foot, he relies on gadgets and dirty tricks, preferring to disable opponents and run rather than engage in a fair fight.
Relationships
- Unbound: He respects their "live and let live" attitude but finds their mystical talk exhausting.

Design Notes
Jaxen provides a "ground-level" perspective on the high-concept sci-fi of Mind On. He's the character who reminds the player that while they're saving reality, someone still has to pay for the fuel.
Hidden Agenda
Jaxen is secretly carrying a piece of "Architect" tech that he stole from a Quantum Custodian vault. He doesn't know what it does, only that it's the reason he's being hunted across three sectors. This item is actually a Paradox Emitter that is slowly destabilizing his own ship's reality.
Story Arc
- Act 1: Introduced as a cynical pilot who can get the player into restricted zones.
- Act 2: His ship starts failing due to the stolen tech; player helps him repair it or discovers the secret.
- Act 3: Must choose whether to return the tech to the Custodians or use it to help the Unbound.
