Quantum Custodians

Overview

The Quantum Custodians are a specialized order (composed of multiple species) dedicated to the maintenance and protection of the Quantum Highways. They view the quantum layer as a delicate ecosystem that must be shielded from the "noise" of physical reality.

Leadership

They are organized into "Cells," each responsible for a specific sector of the highways. The overall strategy is coordinated by The Prime Custodian, an entity that rarely leaves the Quantum Nexus.

Territory

The Custodians claim no physical territory, but they exert total control over the Quantum Highways and the gateways that connect them to physical space.

Resources

They utilize Quantum Wardens as both guardians and maintenance drones. Their technology is focused on stabilization and rapid transit.

Relations

• Void Singers: Long-standing partners in cosmic maintenance.
• Human Collective: The Custodians are wary of human "interference" but recognize their potential as allies against The Fading.

Design Notes

The Custodians provide the player with fast-travel upgrades and quests related to clearing "blockages" in the quantum layer.
