The Quantum Layer is the fundamental fabric of reality that exists "beneath" the physical universe. It is the medium through which consciousness interacts with matter and the foundation of all Consciousness Wielding.

History

For most of human history, the Quantum Layer was merely a mathematical abstraction. It was only after the discovery of the Awakening Protocol that humans were able to perceive and enter it.

Impact

The Quantum Layer allows for FTL travel via Quantum Highways and the manifestation of powerful abilities. It is also where The Fading is occurring.
