The Fading Zones
Overview
The Fading Zones are regions where The Fading has taken hold—areas where consciousness itself is dissolving. These zones represent the greatest threat the galaxy has ever faced, and they're growing. What starts as small pockets of instability expands inexorably, consuming everything in its path.
The Fading Zones are the primary dungeons of the endgame. Each one is unique, representing a different aspect of the threat. Exploring them is dangerous but necessary—the only way to understand the Fading and find a way to stop it.
Geography
Fading Zones don't follow normal geography. They're tears in reality where the quantum layer is unraveling. Entering one is like stepping into a nightmare where the rules of existence are breaking down.
The Gray - Areas where color and emotion drain away, leaving only numb existence.
The Silence - Regions where consciousness itself becomes impossible—thoughts evaporate before they can form.
The Unraveling - Zones where cause and effect break down, creating paradoxes that threaten to destroy anyone caught in them.
The Void - The deepest parts of the Fading Zones, where even the concept of existence becomes uncertain.

The Nature of the Fading
Exploring the Fading Zones reveals the true horror of the threat. This isn't just destruction—it's erasure. Things consumed by the Fading don't just die; they cease to have ever existed. Memories fade, records disappear, and eventually even the concept of what was lost vanishes. The Fading doesn't just kill—it unmakes.
