Overview

Lyric is a human "Resonance Artist" who has spent years living among the Void Singers. They serve as a unique bridge between humanity's technical approach to consciousness and the Singers' ancient, melodic understanding of the quantum layer. Lyric doesn't "wield" consciousness; they "sing" with it.

Appearance

Lyric wears flowing, translucent robes that shimmer with internal light, reacting to the ambient quantum resonance of their environment. They carry a "Resonance Harp," a device that translates quantum fluctuations into audible and visual art. Their skin has a slight pearlescent sheen, a result of long-term exposure to the Singers' home realms.

Personality

Lyric is profoundly empathetic, often feeling the "static" of others' troubled consciousness. They are an idealist who believes that if humanity could just learn to "hear" the universe, The Fading could be reversed. They often speak in riddles or musical metaphors, which can be frustrating to more pragmatic characters like Kaelen Voss.

Dialogue Style

Their speech is rhythmic and often poetic. They avoid harsh consonants and prefer flowery, descriptive language.

Lyric is a pacifist and does not engage in direct combat. Instead, they provide powerful buffs to allies by harmonizing their consciousness, increasing the effectiveness of Consciousness Wielding and shielding them from the mental toll of the Fading.

Relationships

• Void Singers: Lyric is one of the few humans the Singers truly trust, viewing them as a "harmonious student."
• Human Collective: The Collective views Lyric as a valuable but eccentric asset, often using them for diplomatic missions to the nebula.
• Kaelen Voss: Lyric finds Kaelen's "reality-stitching" to be crude and painful to witness, though they recognize the necessity of Kaelen's survival.

Design Notes

Lyric should serve as a contrast to the technical/scientific characters. They introduce the "Art" of consciousness. Their quests should focus on sensory experiences, music, and emotional resonance rather than combat or data collection.

Lyric is slowly losing their human identity. The more they harmonize with the Void Singers, the more their physical form becomes an after-image. They are aware of this "Ascension" and welcome it, even if it means they will eventually be unable to communicate with other humans.
