Dissolution Avatar

Overview

The Dissolution Avatar is a physical manifestation of The Fading. It serves as a guardian for the Fading Zones, preventing anyone from interfering with the unravelling process. It is the player's first major encounter with the force of Dissolution.

Arena

A desolate, colorless landscape within a Fading Zone. The ground is brittle and breaks away, revealing the void beneath.

• Hazards: Fading Mists that slow movement and reduce visibility.

Phases

Phase 1: The Echo of Reality

• Health threshold: 100% - 50%
• Attack patterns: Uses "Echo Strike" to create clones of itself that deal minor damage. Fires "Void Grasps" to pull the player into hazards.
• Behavior: Methodical and defensive.

Phase 2: The Unstable Core

• Health threshold: 50% - 0%
• Attack patterns: The Avatar's form becomes unstable. It uses "Fading Pulse" to deal AOE damage to everything in the arena.
• Behavior: Desperate and erratic.

Weaknesses

Vulnerable to high-impact kinetic attacks that disrupt its unstable quantum form.

Loot Table

• Fading Essence: Used to craft resistance gear.
• Glitched Data Pad: Contains lore about the source of the Fading.

Design Notes

The Avatar should look like a distorted, low-resolution version of the player character, suggesting that it is "sampling" their consciousness.
