Moral Tapping

Moral Tapping is a system that measures the player's ethical approach to harvesting The Seepage. Every time a player 'taps' a leak, they must choose a method that has different consequences.

Tapping Methods

Gentle Extraction

• Description: Harvesting only what is naturally leaking without forcing the crack open.
• Benefit: Increases standing with cliff-guard. Spells are more stable.
• Cost: Lower yield of magical energy.

Forceful Siphoning

• Description: Widening the crack to extract maximum energy quickly.
• Benefit: High yield of magical energy. Unlocks more powerful 'overcharged' spells.
• Cost: Increases standing with mist-merchants. Causes environmental instability (e.g., crumbling paths, aggressive flora).

Consequences

The state of Mistcliff Reach changes based on the player's choices. High forceful siphoning leads to a more dangerous, but technologically advanced town, while gentle extraction leads to a safer, more harmonious village.
