Environmental Spellcasting

Environmental Spellcasting is the core magic system of Mistcliff Reach. Unlike traditional RPG systems where spells are learned from books, players must discover and 'attune' to magic by interacting with the environment.

Core Loop

  1. Detection: Use the Seepage Vial to locate active leaks.
  2. Interaction: Interact with Glowing Flora or Whispering Winds.
  3. Absorption: Capture the essence of the leak.
  4. Casting: Use the captured essence to perform specific feats (e.g., lighting paths, stabilizing bridges).

Spell Types

  • Kinetic: Derived from the winds, used for movement and force.
  • Bioluminescent: Derived from flora, used for light and healing.
  • Structural: Derived from the stone cracks, used for altering the terrain.

Design Notes

The UI should provide visual feedback when the player is near a potent leak. The 'capture' process should involve a small mini-game related to Moral Tapping.
