The Tappers

Overview

The Tappers are a loose, decentralized group of individuals who believe that the seepage is a resource to be used, not just contained. They range from desperate villagers trying to improve their lives to ambitious sorcerers seeking raw power.

Leadership

  • Silas Vane: A former scholar who was expelled from a distant academy for his "unorthodox" theories on energy siphoning. He operates from the shadows.

Territory

They are most active in the lower, more dilapidated sections of Mistcliff Reach and the hidden caves beneath the Sky-Pier Pier.

Resources

The Tappers have developed "Seepage Siphons"—crude but effective devices for drawing large amounts of magic from leaks. They also have a network of informants and smugglers.

Relations

  • The Wardens of the Cliff: Mutual distrust and frequent skirmishes.
  • The Smuggler's Den: Close allies. The Tappers provide the magic needed to mask ships in the bay.

Design Notes

The Tappers represent the "Chaos/Progress" side of the moral divide. Players allied with them will gain access to high-damage offensive spells, siphoning mechanics, and black-market items.
